We can't thank Mayor Loomis enough for his tremendous support of the Arizona Distance Classic. Since the Annual Event when he participated in the Senior Stroll to his participation in his 5k his fitness has grown along with the event. This year he challenges all of you to participate along with him in the Oro Valley Hospital 5k.

The Oro Valley Hospital 5k is the CELEBRATION of the commitment of all citizens of the Town of Oro Valley to a healthy active lifestyle.

Why Now

Obesity is an epidemic and a public health crisis. The Town of Oro Valley is leading in the fight to change the fitness habits of its citizens. Mayor Loomis is committed to changing it and he is challenging the community to "Commit to be Fit" and participate along with him.

The alternative does not work. Overeating. Oversitting. And many of our kids are overweight. The Town of Oro Valley has made great strides in the last few years, and the Town of Oro Valley is now going to lead with its actions.

We will measure the success of this movement by the number of citizens willing to commit.
